It has just been pointed out that we did not go canoeing but kayaked today. The Dordogne is the main river nearby and we drove to Gluges to hire our double kayaks and drift/paddle 17k downstream.
The drive to Gluge was somewhat hairy with massive limestone cliffs to our left, many overhanging ready to fall and squash us.

The trip went smoothly, a few little rapids but generally a nice current helping you along. There was a slight hitch when we got o the van to be taken back to our car when we realised the van was a tour group going in a totally different direction.
